Howard Lummus, age 72 of Cincinnati passed away on Thursday, November 1, 2012. He was born in Macon, Georgia on February 11, 1940 the son of Charlie and Annabelle Lummus. He was married to Janet Mathes October 28, 1995 in Cincinnati.
He is survived by his wife Janet Mathes Lummus of Cincinnati; two sons, Howard Lummus Jr. and his wife Staci of Cincinnati, and Brandon Phillip Mathes and his wife Francine of Cincinnati; five daughters, Kimberly Pitts of Cincinnati, Karen Wallace of Cincinnati, Rhonda Lummus of Covington, Kentucky, Nicole Mathes of Cincinnati, and Jicole Mathes of Cincinnati; eleven grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; one brother, James Lummus of Cincinnati; and many other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Fred and Roosevelt Lummus; and one sister, Ruth Lummus.
Funeral service will be held at the Newcomer Funeral Home, 7830 Hamilton Avenue, Cincinnati, Ohio 45231 on Friday, November 9, 2012 at 11:00 AM with Pastor Robert Sherman officiating. Burial will follow in Spring Grove Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the funeral home from 10:00 AM until time of service at 11:00 AM.
