James J. Durkin, age 80, of Cincinnati, Ohio, peacefully passed away on Sunday, July 21, 2024. He was born in Cincinnati, Ohio on July 8, 1944, to the late James J Durkin Sr. and Anna Mae Durkin (nee Welch).
He was a cherished father survived by his beloved children: Son David Scott (Laura) Durkin and Daughter Deborah Sue (Darrel) Durkin Woodward. and Son, Travis Pittman. James also leaves behind Grandchildren Ryan (Michelle) Durkin, Grace Durkin, Thomas Durkin, Tiffany Durkin, Nicholas Woodward; Great Grandchildren Evan Durkin, Jamison Kain, Caliopy Durkin Orr, Addison Durkin Orr, and Braxton Woodward; as well as his Sister Peggy Durkin, and by his life long friend Jerrie Dehner-Howard; and a multitude of other family members and friends.
James found joy in drag racing and had a passion for cooking, camping, and traveling in his motorhome. He was a proud member of the United Manual Transmission Racers.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in memory of James may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project or the American Lung Association or Hospice of Cincinnati.
A Funeral Ceremony to honor James will take place at 4:00 pm on Tuesday, July 30th, 2024. Prior to the ceremony, friends and family are invited to pay their respects during visitation hours from 3:00 pm - 4:00 pm at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions - West Side Chapel located at 3300 Parkcrest Lane in Cincinnati, Ohio.
