HARDING, James E. age 82, died Saturday, July 23, 2011 with his family by his side at Drake Hospital in Cincinnati, OH. Mr. Harding was born May 24, 1929 Chattanooga, Tennessee to Elijah Coller and Ozorah Lewis.
He was preceded in death by his only sister, Dorothy Harding Washington.
At an early age Mr. Harding traveled to many parts of the United States. He worked at the Pennsylvania Railroad, City of Cincinnati Sanitation Department, Power Valve and First Ryder Bus Company.
He enjoyed baseball, basketball, bowling, fishing, shooting pool and spending time with his family. He was affectionately called "Uncle Bud" by his nieces and nephews.
He gave his life to Jesus Christ at St. Mark Baptist Church and later united with Pilgrim Missionary Baptist Church. He was an active, dedicated and faithful member of Pilgrim Baptist Church. He enjoyed and led the bus driving ministry. He would pick up members when no one else would. He maintained the bus maintenance and he would not accept any financial compensation from the church. He would often treat members to a meal between services. He cheerfully gave of his time, talents and finances to Kingdom building in the vineyard at Pilgrim Baptist Church. He would frequently tell Pastor that when he was in the world, he served it well, but now that he is in the church, he will serve the Lord better then he did when he was in the world.
