James R. Hawkins, age 80, of Erlanger, Kentucky passed away on Thursday, November 26, 2020. He was born in Maryville, Tennessee on January 3, 1940 to John and Euna Bell Russell. James loved going to the casino. His personal preference however were slot machines. He avidly played the Kentucky Lottery purchasing scratch-off's at any place they were sold. He also enjoyed horse racing, and listening to all types of music especially blues and country music.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Frances Hawkins, parents, and brother, William Hawkins.
James is survived by his beloved children, Pamela (Patrick) Stanley, Kimberly Wright, Sheila Neal, and Theresa (Paul) Brockert; grandchildren, Valerie Temelis, Mark Wright, Jr., Robbie Brockert, Michael Brockert; great-grandchildren, Sadie Frost, Morgann Wright, Isabella Illes; great-great-grandchild, Xander Stultz; siblings, James (Deborah) Pierce, Barbara (William) Wittenkind, Carol Hughes, Sharon (William) Bowman, and Patricia (Leonard) Sexton; and a host of other family members and friends.
In lieu of flowers, in loving memory of James, contributions may be made to Hospice Care of St. Elizabeth, 483 S Loop Rd, Edgewood, KY 41017, National Kidney Foundation, 615 Elsinore Pl. #400, Cincinnati, OH 45202, or St. Joseph Home, 10722 Wyscarver Rd., Cincinnati, OH 45241.
The family will hold a celebration of life at a later date.
