James Henry Matthews, Sr., age 76, of Price Hill, Ohio passed away on Tuesday, June 9, 2020. He was born in Cincinnati, Ohio on December 19, 1943 to Odus Matthews and Rosetta Harp (nee Jones).
He was preceded in death by his father, Odus Matthews; mother, Rosetta Harp; daughter, Kathyrnn Louise Matthews; four siblings, Charlie, Mike, Marlene, and Little Carl; step-father, Russell Harp; and step-mom, Virginia Matthews.
James is survived by his children, Carolyn Marie Siemering, James Henry (Teresa) Matthews, Jr., Victoria Louise (Geoff Miller) Matthews, Bonnie Lee (Jeffrey Meyer) Couch, and Maria (Mike) Meyer; 23 grandchildren, Sean (Jackie), Britny, Bruce, Jr., Zachary (Kaitlyn), James, III, Brandon, Isabella, Jeffrey, Jr., Cody, Kylie, Sabrina, Stephen, Jr., Kurtis, Tyler, Robby, Jonathan, Anthony, Adom, Alec, Christopher (Lucy), Corey, Emma-lee, and Casey; eight great-grandchildren, Arianna, Cullan, Elena, Jayde, Cayden, Sophia, Savannah, Taylor, and one on the way; mother of his children, Barbara Couch; and a host of other family members and friends.
Family and friends will gather on Tuesday, June 16, 2020 at Newcomer Funeral Home, 3300 Parkcrest Lane, from 10:00 to 11:00AM. The funeral service will begin at 11:00AM. Burial will follow at Baltimore Pike Cemetery.
