Janet Ireland

Janet Ireland, age 87, of Cincinnati, Ohio, passed away peacefully on March 24, 2025. Born on March 11, 1938, in Cincinnati, Janet was the cherished daughter of Herman and Elinor Richter (nee Schrand).

She is lovingly remembered by her children: Karen (Tony) Cobb, John (Karen) Ireland, Sheryl (the late Sam) Ireland, and Elaine (the late Toby) McIntyre. Janet is also survived by her beloved grandchildren, Christopher (Heather), John, Julia (Brandon), and Kaley, as well as her great-grandchildren, Orion and Beth. She was preceded in death by her husband, John C. Ireland III, her sister Lorraine Giglio, and her parents.

Janet had a passion for gardening, finding joy in nurturing her favorite flowers, including daisies, cornflowers, daffodils, tulips, and various spring blooms. She treasured playing cards with her friends, enjoying games such as Michigan rummy, 500, and Knock 21. An exceptional baker, Janet delighted her family and friends with beautifully decorated cakes, Christmas cookies, and an array of delicious pies. Above all, she cherished spending time with her family, creating lasting memories that will be treasured by all who knew her.

Mass will be 9:30 am on Friday, April 11, 2025, at Our Lady of Visitation with a visitation on April 10, 2025, from 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions - West Side Chapel, 3300 Parkcrest Lane, Cincinnati, Ohio 45211.
