PRINCE, Jayne E. age 94, passed away on Friday, December 26, 2014, at the Mt. Healthy Christian Village in Cincinnati, Ohio. She was born in Mount Vernon, Ohio on July 23, 1920 to Otho S. and Myrtle L. Williams (nee Booker).
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Courtland C. Prince, Sr.; daughter, Saundra Fort; siblings, Reba Williams, Bobby Williams, Pearl Carter. Jayne is survived by her son, Courtland C. (Carol) Prince, Jr.; grandchildren, Courtland C. Prince, III, Jason D. Prince; Alaunda E. Gates, Leaunda J. Durax, Thomas E. Gates, Jr., D'Lisa Fort; brother, Charles Williams; special niece, Lavata Williams, numerous great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and a host of other family members and friends.
Jayne confessed Christ as her Lord and Savior and her faith continued to grow throughout her life. While living in Columbus, Ohio, one of her great pleasures was working in the church library at Christian Assembly where she was a member for many years. Jayne was never one to sit around, she had to be on the go; she traveled the country while working for the government or visiting with family. Last year she was still driving on her own to Columbus, Ohio to visit with her sister, Reba.
In 2009, she moved to Cincinnati, Ohio to be nearer to her son, Craig. She treasured their Friday lunches at her favorite restaurant, Golden Corral. And she always had a stash of chocolate candy around the house.
Mom we will miss your positive outlook, your wisdom, our talks, and our times together. Mom would affectionately say at the end of our phone conversations "okay sweet pea, talk to you later." And we say back to you Mom, "okay sweet pea, talk to you later."
