Jeanette Shannon (Granny) was born to the late Sarah Lee Horton and Sherman Shannon on September 25, 1952 in Cincinnati, Ohio. She grew up in the community of Cumminsville with her mother, sisters and brothers. She later attended Hughes High School in Clifton. She is proceded in death by her mother Sarah and older brother Peter. Our Father lifted her out of pain into His arms on July 25. 2012.
Throughout her life, Jeanette worked various jobs to support her family. some would say a "jack of all trades". She was often referred to as Jean or Sister Jeanie. She was known for her beautiful, heart-warming smile. She had a love for working on cars and attending church at Willing Spirit Baptist Church on Westwood-Northern Blvd. She was very family oriented, attending every family function with a bright smile and a warm hug. Jean was energetic and full of life. She was a loving and caring mother, sister, daughter and friend. Although she will be dearly missed and always thought of, we all know that she is now with her Heavenly Father and out of pain and suffering.
She leaves behind her 3 daughters Sarah (Money), Twanette (Nana) and Rosemarie (Pumpkin) to carry on her legacy. She was blessed with 5 grandchildren, Maurice (Reese), Kieashia (Keda), Tekelia (TeeTee), Cortez (Tez), and Destini (NeeNee) and 3 great-grandchildren Ne'Vaeh (Tooda), Ke'ziah (Nonna) and Maurjayla (J-la).
