Jerry Lamar Richmond Sr.
March 17, 1957 - December 11, 2024

On December 11, 2024, Jerry Lamar Richmond Sr., known affectionately as "Vice" or "Bae Bae" to those who loved him, peacefully departed this world to join his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Born in Columbus, Georgia, to Jerry Richmond and Willa Mae Austin (Harris), Jerry's life was a testament to the power of family, music, and bringing joy to others.

A naturally gifted musician, Jerry possessed an extraordinary ability to master any instrument he touched, teaching himself to play several, with the drums holding a special place in his heart. Together with his brothers, he formed the musical group “Williasons," creating memorable music that showcased their shared talent. His passion for music continued throughout his life, evolving with technology as he embraced digital recording, often spending countless nights collaborating with his brother Dwight on new tracks.

His natural talents extended into his professional life as well. In 2007, Jerry became a licensed barber, quickly mastering the art of cutting hair after learning the fundamental principles. Like his music, his barbering skills seemed to flow naturally from his creative spirit, allowing him to transform each client's hair with precision and artistry.

Jerry's zest for life extended far beyond his professional pursuits. An avid fisherman, he treasured the time spent casting lines with his beloved wife and friends. On the basketball court, his shot-blocking prowess earned him the nickname "the human fly swatter." In the kitchen, Jerry was famous for his culinary adventures, particularly his "five-minute banana pudding" that became legendary among family and friends. During holidays, he would devote days to meticulously cleaning chitterlings, taking pride in his cooking skills and creating memorable meals for those he loved.

Jerry was preceded in death by his beloved wife Geraldine "Sweets" Richmond, his parents Jerry Richmond and Willa Mae Austin, stepfather Tommie Austin, and his brothers Jerome Richmond, Dwight Richmond, and baby Richmond. His legacy lives on through his loving children: son Jerry Richmond Jr. (Angelique), daughters Jaquala Williams (Terry) and Jerrica Richmond; his siblings Douglas and Lavonzell; his cherished grandchildren Gerriano (Markieya), Kahmari, Alyce, Alexandria and Logan; two great-grandchildren; and countless family members and friends who were touched by his kindness and love.

Jerry's genuine warmth, boundless creativity, and ability to bring smiles to those around him will be deeply missed but forever remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing him. His life was a beautiful melody that will continue to resonate in the hearts of those he left behind, accompanied by the love he poured into every moment spent with family and friends.
