Jewel "Julie" Chaffins

Jewel "Julie" Chaffins, age 81, of Union, Kentucky passed away on Saturday, June 15, 2024 at home surrounded by family. She was born in Phil, Kentucky on December 18, 1942 to Abraham and Myrtie Bowmer (nee Baldock). Julie was an avid bird watcher, a competitive scrabble player, and loved to travel. She also enjoyed volunteering at various organizations and being involved in her community. Most of all, Julie loved her family and spending time with them.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Myrtie Bowmer, father, Abraham Bowmer, son, Jeff Chaffins, Jr., siblings; Essie Scales, Walter Bowmer, Carl Bowmer, and Inez Bowmer. Jewel is survived by her beloved husband of 37 years, Jeff Chaffins, daughters; Kim (Charles) Felts, Rhonda (Eric Girty) Wilson, Tammy (L.J.) Murphy, Tara (Jason) Barker, 11 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren; and a host of other family members and friends.
