Copenhaver, Jimmie "Cope" age 90, of Green Township, Ohio passed away on Wednesday, November 30, 2016. He was born in Fowler, Indiana on August 6, 1926 to Jesse Cecil and Oakie Olive Copenhaver (nee Bowman). He was a veteran with the United States Navy, serving during WWII, a member of the VFW Post 10380, and a lifetime member of the Navy Seabee Veterans of America. On December 26, 1948 he was married to Eileen Buschelman.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his brothers-in-law, Ed Krommer Sr. and his wife Edna Mae and John Broerse. Jimmie is survived by his beloved wife of 68 years, Eileen R. Copenhaver (nee Buschelman); his son, Jim (Jackie) Copenhaver; his sister, Wanda Broerse; grandchildren, Kim Copenhaver, Niki (Paul) Schildmeyer, Jimmie (Vanessa Pilger) Copenhaver, Jamie (Bill) Meister, and Travis (Dee) Huber; great-grandchildren, Cameron, Ava, and Brody Schildmeyer, Will and Greta Meister, Scarlett, Izzy, and Cruz Huber, Rider Pilger-Copenhaver; nieces and nephews, Ed (Mary Ann) Krommer Jr., Eileen (Herb) Weigand, Harry (Mary Ellen) Krommer, Mary Lee (Mike) Brauer and, Rick Broerse, Debbie Broerse, and Teri Mitchum; and a host of other family members and friends.
In lieu of flowers, and in memory of Jimmie, contributions may be made to Honor Flight Tri-State Headquarters, 8627 Calumet Way, Cincinnati, OH. 45249. Mass will be held at 10:30 am Saturday, December 3, 2016 with a visitation from 9:30 am - 10:30 am at St. Jude Bridgetown, 5924 Bridgetown Road, Cincinnati, Ohio 45248. Entombment will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery - Old. A luncheon will be held at the Centennial Hall, 110 Washington Avenue, St. Bernard, Ohio 45217, in the lower level of City Hall, following the service at the cemetery.
