Joan Rita Weigand

Joan Rita Weigand, age 88 of Reading passed away on Saturday, October 6, 2012 at the Hospice of Cincinnati Blue Ash Campus. She was born in Cincinnati on January 24, 1924 the daughter of Fred and Mary (Espel) Broerman. Joan was a retired teaching assistant and was a member of St. Gertrude the Great Roman Catholic Church.

She is survived by four sons, Steven Weigand, Gregory Weigand, David Weigand and his wife Helen, and Wilfrid Weigand and his wife Linda; eight grandchildren, Fred, Michael, Anna, Tom, Michelle, Dave, Jason, and Brian; one sister, Tessie Wilking; and many other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by two sons, Thomas and James Wiegand.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Gertrude the Great Roman Catholic Church, 4900 Rialto Road, West Chester, Ohio 45069, on Friday, October 12, 2012 at 11:20 AM with Father Charles McGuire, Celebrant. Burial will follow at St. Mary Cemetery in St. Bernard, Ohio. Visitation will be held at the church on Thursday from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM with a Rosary service following at 8:00 PM.
