Joan S. Reis

Reis, Joan S., age 93, of Cincinnati, Ohio passed away on Wednesday, October 14, 2015. She was born in Louisville, Kentucky on March 11, 1922 to the late Joseph and Ruth Sachs (nee Bernheimer). Joan worked as a mother raising her two sons and as an instructor of classical music at the Cincinnati Conservatory of Music for 35 years. In addition to her career, she fulfilled her passion for classical music through many decades of support for the Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra and other local classical music groups. Joan was a principle founding member of the Valley Temple in Wyoming, Ohio.

Joan is survived by her Sons, Joseph S. Reis and Mark W. (Maureen) Reis; Grandchildren, Dr. James R. (Joanie) Reis, Katherine C. (Michael) Bonomo, and Nicole (Stephen) Wells-Anik Swan; 5 Great Grandchildren, Ella, Ashley, Ryan, Molly, and Audrina; and a host of other family members and friends.

A memorial service will take place at First Unitarian Church of Cincinnati, 536 Linton St, Cincinnati, OH 45219 on Saturday, November 7, 2015 at 9:00 AM. In lieu of flowers, you are encouraged to attend a classical music performance of your choice in honor of Joan.
