He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Kenny Thomas. John is survived by his beloved children, John E. (Carolyn) Avery, Jr., Javita E. Avery, Barry Tabb and Jannifer Thomas; grandchildren, Fredrick Tabb, Jacob Avery and Nissan Boyd; great-grandchildren, Drea and Daylon; significant other, Shirley Ring; and a host of other family members and friends.
