John Edward Crump, age 77 of Cincinnati passed away on Monday, October 29, 2012. He was born in Cincinnati on July 11, 1935 the son of Dewey Hobson and Effie Mai (Hamm) Crump. He was a United States Navy Veteran and a longtime photographer for General Electric. He was a member of the Bridgetown Church of Christ, and he loved to travel and adored his family. On January 28, 1956 he was married to Virginia Jackson.
He is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Virginia Crump of Cincinnati; a daughter, Becky (Kevin) Wuest of Cincinnati; a son Peter (Angela Gresham) Crump of Cincinnati; one granddaughter, Hilary (John) Wolsky of Mt. Sterling, Kentucky; and two great-grandchildren, Estella and Aria Wolsky of Mt. Sterling, Kentucky. He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Ida Mae Medlin; and two brothers, Charles and Clifford Crump.
Funeral service will be held at the Bridgetown Church of Christ, 3854 Race Road, Cincinnati, Ohio 45211, on Friday, November 2, 2012 at 10:00 AM with Pastor Nathan Hardesty officiating. Burial will follow in Spring Grove Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the church on Thursday from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM and on Friday from 9:00 AM until time of service at 10:00 AM.
