John F. Zerhusen

ZERHUSEN, John F., age 94 of Cheviot passed away on Monday, September 14, 2015. He was born in Cincinnati on November 10, 1920 the son of John A. and Ethel (Kallmeyer) Zerhusen. Jack "Tiger Z" was raised in Covington, Kentucky, attending St. Augustin Parochial School and Holmes High School. John enlisted in the United States Navy during March of 1941 and served honorably for six years during World War II. He worked at Litwin Diamond Company for over forty years, starting as an errand boy and eventually earning the title of Vice President for Litwin-Zale Company. John finished his career as a salesman for Reising Jewelers, retiring in 2005, at age 85.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and his wife, Emelie. John is survived by his four children, Armella and her husband Ferd Dornbusch, William Zerhusen and his wife Janet, John Zerhusen and his wife Ann, Edward Zerhusen and his wife Vicky; his thirteen grandchildren, Lori Friedhoff, Michelle Dornbusch-Wilson, William Dornbusch and his wife Erica, Jeanne and her husband Richard Songy, Jennifer and her husband Doug DeTellem, Michael Zerhusen, Daniel Zerhusen, Jordan Jeffries and his fiancée Sarah Konnagan, Aubrey and her husband Ben Herndon, Brian Brennan and his wife Kristy, Jeff Brennan, and Elizabeth and her husband John Gabbard; his thirteen great-grandchildren, Brennan, Darrah, Kyle, Jared, Jake, William, Andrew Dornbusch, Dylan, Andrew Songy, Alexa, DJ, Lilly and Dominic; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at the St. Ignatius Loyola Catholic Church, 5222 North Bend Road, Cincinnati, Ohio 45247, on Friday, September 18, 2015 at 11:00 am. Burial will follow at the St. Joseph Cemetery – New. Visitation will be held at Newcomer Funeral Home, 3300 Parkcrest Lane, Cincinnati, Ohio 45211 on Friday, September 18, 2015 from 9:00 am until 10:00 am.
