John Martin Fahey

November 26, 1991 — July 4, 2020

On July 4, 2020, John Martin Fahey died unexpectedly from complications following a serious illness and open-heart surgery.
John, affectionately known as "Johnny", was born on November 26, 1991, following four older sisters and one year ahead of his younger brother. He grew up in Buford, OH and later moved to Cincinnati, OH with his family. He first attended Buford and Fayetteville-Perry Elementary Schools, then attended St. William Grade School in Price Hill. His family later moved to Delhi and Johnny graduated from Oak Hills High School.

Johnny grew up very close to his siblings, especially his brother Clinton, who was just 363 days younger than himself. They were active, rambunctious boys, often playing cowboys and Indians. Johnny also practiced martial arts with his brother. By far, his favorite passion was fishing on the Ohio River, mainly with his friends, and often with his Uncle Tom. Like his dad, John, Johnny had a keen interest in mechanics and frequently worked on go-carts, mini-bikes and automobiles. In high school, he excelled at math and computers, often composing music and synthesizing his creations on the computer.
Johnny had a soft, quiet side about him. He loved dogs and dogs were attracted to his innate affection for them. He was loyal to his family and friends, often preferring one-on-one time with those he loved. He was extremely close to his mother and they were highly supportive of each other through life's challenges and accomplishments.

His work ethic was commendable and he would often be working off the clock or taking on extra responsibilities. He enjoyed his jobs at LaRosa's, Burger King, Frisch's and especially Ron's Roost where he was a favorite of his manager. Johnny also had a strength and resilience like no other, having survived being hit by a car twice, meningitis, and overcoming two open-heart surgeries. He had a strong will to live. Like many youth, he sometimes struggled to find his path in life, but was beginning to find his way. He was a thoughtful, contemplative, proud, yet humble young man, embracing his talents, spirituality and worthiness when his life was tragically cut short. No one can understand or make sense of devastating events such as this. We can only derive some comfort knowing he is in the presence of our Lord, resting eternally at peace in the Hands of God, alongside his brother Clinton.

Johnny was preceded in death by his brother, Clinton Fahey, and his grandparents Dolores Fahey, Robert Fahey, and Thomas Pfaffinger. He is survived by his parents Susan Pfaffinger, John (stepmom Sue) Fahey, and his siblings: Christine (Mike Wilkinson), Stephanie, Ashley and Kaitlyn. He's also survived by his grandmother Bonnie Pfaffinger and numerous aunts and uncles: Robert Fahey, Dolores "Dodi" (Kenny) Ramsey, Kevin (Sonia) Fahey, Kathy (Rob) Cain, Tom (Sandy) Pfaffinger, Bruce Pfaffinger, Ted (Michelle) Pfaffinger, Anita (Jerry) Pfaffinger-Bunner, Carol (Chris) Juniet. He leaves behind numerous nieces, (Ashahna, Aaliyah, Hailey, Abbey, Emily, Cali), nephews, (Christian, Matthew, Keshaun, Treyvon, Nathan, Devon), and a multitude of cousins.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, July 11, 2020, from 1:00 – 3:00 PM, followed by service at 3:00 PM, at Newcomer West Side Chapel, 3300 Parkcrest Ln., Cincinnati, OH, 45211, followed by cremation.
