John Howard

John Howard, age 85, of Florence, Kentucky passed away on Monday, September 6, 2021. He was born in Ravena, Kentucky on January 30, 1936 to Heber and Grace Howard (nee Simpson). John had an overall love for life, his family and being outdoors. He enjoyed boating, canoeing cutting wood, riding his tractor, a good thunderstorm, being with his family and could be the life of the party. He served in our nations military and was apart of the 101st Airborne, serving during the Korean War as a Staff Sergeant. Above all John was strong in his faith in God.

He was preceded in death by his parents, daughter, Erin Flannery, brother, Orvid Howard, and sister-in-law, Louise Howard.

John is survived by his beloved Wife, Sharon Howard (nee Weeks); children, John Mark (Susan) Howard, Rocky Howard, Julie (Vincent) Surace, Annette (Dave) Schirmer, Heather Howard, Billy Howard; 10 grandchildren 11 great-grandchildren; dog, Mose; and a host of other family members and friends.

Services will be held on Saturday, September 11, 2021 at 1:00 pm at First Baptist Church of Burlington, 5920 Perlate Street, Burlington, KY 41005. There will be a Celebration of Life to follow.
