JOHN LEARY born on March 2, 1940 in Cincinnati, Ohio to Edward Leary and Daisy McKenzie Leary. John Leary departed on July 26, 2024 after he fought a good fight and kept the faith.
In 2008, John Leary rededicated his life to Christ by becoming a member of Star Light Baptist Church under Pastor Arthur Watson. He alond with his Pastor, prayed morning for others. At an early age John Leary took the care of his Mother which caused him to make a decision with no hesitation to leave school and taking on the role as a man of the house.
John Leary had a variety of jobs and his first job was a newspaper route and acquired many skills at a young age. He then became the owner of a demolition company. The company flourished under his direction and expanded across Greater Cincinnati, Dayton, and Kentucky area. When he did find time to relax he enjoyed shooting marbles, boxing, good music and movies. He was known for his smile, dancing and most of all his work ethics.
John Leary was a kind and loving person, who had a sense of humor, along with dedication. John Leary is remembered by his kids as, “ PAPA DON’T TAKE NO MESS.” In his time with family & friends, he touched so many lives, left so many instructions about life and did his best to prepare others for life.
He leaves behind Sisters, Eva and Rosie, Brother, Cornelius. Children, Courtney Leary, Debra King, Tyrone Robinson Sr., Lynette R. Minor ( Samuel Minor), Denise, Lavonne, Michale Leary, Shannon Shears, Ernie Shears (Charlie), Jeff Gaither (Karen), Kelley Griffith, James Rogers, Reggie, Kevin, Johnita Sharon Leary, and a host of grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by Parents, Edward Leary and Daisy McKenzie Leary, James, Edward, Emmalon, Juanita Leonard Curry, & Eunice
