John Leon Hood was born on May 25, 1942 to John Henry Hood and Nettie Prude Hood in Cottondale, Alabama. He attended Boteler High School.
Leon moved to Cincinnati, Ohio in 1964 and married Evelyn Westbrook in 1967. Thru this union two children, Troy Damon and Tiffanie Michele was born.
Leon loved his family, extended family and his friends. He will always be remembered for his love of cars and his good cooking. Leon was nice and good hearted but had a strange way of showing it.
Leon passed away February 1, 2013 with his family by his side.
Leon was preceded in death by his parents, 3 brothers, 1 sister and his wife.
Leon leaves to cherish his memory: 1 daughter, Tiffanie; 2 sons, Troy and Ronald (Sandra), 2 brothers, Chester (Linda) and Nathaniel (Lela); 2 sisters, Edna Mae, (all from Tuscaloosa, Alabama) and Linda, (Merrillville, Indiana); 9 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren and he will be greatly missed by a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
Funeral service for John Leon Hood, age 70 of Cincinnati, will be Saturday, February 9, 2013 at 10:00 AM at the Phillips Memorial Christian Methodist Episcopal Church, 839 W. N. Bend Rd., Cincinnati, Ohio 45224. Burial will follow in the Vine Street Hill Cemetery, 3701 Vine St, Cincinnati, Ohio 45220. The family will receive friends on Saturday, February 9, 2013 from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM at the Phillips Memorial Christian Methodist Episcopal Church, 839 W. N. Bend Rd., Cincinnati, Ohio 45224.
