John G. Maddan

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of John G. Maddan, age 55, of Erlanger, Kentucky, who left us on Monday, March 24, 2025. Born in Bangor, Maine, he was the son of Richard A. and Sharon J. Maddan (nee Bouchard).

He is survived by his cherished daughter, Lauren Maddan; his loving mother, Sharon J. Maddan; his sisters, Maureen Jarrell, Jill (Len) Conway, Debra (Jack) Yoachim; his beloved grandchildren, Alaia, Maya and Jace Collins; cousin and close friend Jason (Derica), long time trusted friends Sean, Tony, Eddie “DD”, and numerous family and friends who will miss him dearly.

John was preceded in death by his father, Richard A. Maddan, and his sister, Christine Maddan.

Known for his fearless nature and cutting sense of humor, John enjoyed off-roading, four-wheelers, drag racing and wicked weekends at Bubbafest with his friends. He had a deep appreciation for anything with a motor. Like his dad, John enjoyed cooking and treating his family and friends to his favorites - grilled steak, Italian sausage and spaghetti. His cats were a hilarious source of entertainment that brought on the belly laughs. Down time he’d be binging the “Yellowstone” series.

John graduated from Upper Bucks County Technical School in Aviation Maintenance Technology. His decades long career spanned aviation mechanics, management, and most recently GE Aerospace as an engine assembly technician. He was respected for his leadership, knowledge of his craft, and work ethic.

A memorial service will be held at 2:00 PM on Thursday, April 3, 2025, with a visitation from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions - Northern Kentucky Chapel, located at 4350 Dixie Highway, Erlanger, Kentucky41018.
