He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Letha Shockley, sister, Fannie Mae Shockley, sister, Doshia Shockley, sister, Oma Franks, sister, Martha Smallwood, sister, Geniece Smith, brother, Arthur Shockley; grandson, Tony Shockley; son-in-law, Stephen Meadows. John is survived by his son, Wylie (Iva) Shockley, daughter, Lela (Fred) Beckman, daughter, Thellia Meadows, son, James (Charlene) Shockley, son, John (Nannette) Shockley, daughter, Marie Shockley, son, Bruce Shockley, son, Richard (Amy) Shockley; grandchildren, Jason, Teri, Joe, Jill, Drew, Brian, Steven, David, Brittany, Austin, Faith; eight great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and a host of other family members and friends.
