Josephus Treadwell was born March 31, 1943 to the late Taft and Beulah (Austin) Treadwell. He was the fifth of nine children. Joe was called to eternal rest on the morning of September 10, 2012.
Joe was educated in the Roanoke, Alabama Randolph County School District. He then went on to obtain Carpentry Certification from the Tuskegee Trade School in Alabama.
Upon completion of his education, Joe moved to Cincinnati, Ohio where he met and married Joyce Treadwell. To this union, three children – Jason, Joe, and Jessica were born.
For many years, Joe was employed by Celotex Industries in Lockland, Ohio before embarking on his carpentry career. He was an avid sports fan with a profound love for coaching and playing softball. As the years went by, Joe proclaimed he was "the best ball player around!" Everyone who spent time with Joe knew of his passion for sports, nice cars, and nice clothes. Joe had an unwavering love for his family and for his friends; and despite his illness, he would always greet you with a smile. Until his health failed, Joe attended Zion Hope Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Rev. Benny Strayhorn.
Joe Treadwell was preceded in death by a son, Jason Treadwell; a brother, Austin Treadwell; and a sister, Ernestine Hall.
He leaves to cherish his memory: his beloved wife, Joyce Treadwell; his children, Anthony, Tracy, Kelein, Keith, Nicardi, Angel, Joel, Carnell, Joe, Jessica, and two step-children, Bobby and Cheri. Also, he leaves to mourn his brothers: William (Ethel) Treadwell and Thomas (Betty) Treadwell; his sisters: Mildred Treadwell-Heard, Christine (Render) Jackson, Bessie Brown, and Glenda Gilbert. Joe also leaves to mourn a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and other family members. His soul now rests with Jesus.
