Joshua Michael McKinley, 31, of Independence, Kentucky passed away on Monday, August 16, 2021 at his home. He was born in Edgewood, Kentucky on December 10, 1989.
Josh was a business owner who proudly and honorably served our country as an Afghanistan Combat Veteran in the Army Airborne Infantry where he ranked as an E-4 Specialist. Josh deployed to Afghanistan in 2009 serving his duty in an active combat zone 1st Battalion, 501st Parachute Infantry Regiment, 4th Brigade Combat Team, 25th Infantry Division, Fort Richardson.
He was an avid fan of Rock & Roll music, the Pittsburgh Steelers, and the Cincinnati Reds Baseball. Josh will be remembered most definitely by his humor and kind caring heart. He was a loving husband, best friend and father.
He was proceeded in death by his great-grandfather Don McKinley.
Left behind to cherish his memory are his loving wife Christina M. McKinley; his son Abel B. McKinley; his parents, Tracy McKinley and Brian Herzog; brother Zachary McKinley; Grandmother, Donna McKinley; Great-Grandmother, Donna McKinley and a host of other family members and friends all of whom will hold his memory close to their hearts.
Graveside Services will be held on Wednesday, September 1, 2021 at 11:00 am at the Kentucky Veterans Cemetery North, 205 Eibeck Lane, Williamstown, Kentucky 41097. Military Honors will be provided by the United States Army and the VFW Post 6423 of Elsmere to honor Josh's service to our country.
Josh will be greatly missed but never forgotten.
