Shavers, Joyce Yvette was born in Crawfordville, GA, to the late Joel and Ethel Mae Chapman on December 15, 1940. The family relocated to Cincinnati, Ohio when she was 10 months old in 1941. She passed away in her home in Madisonville, Cincinnati, Ohio on August 14, 2012.
She was baptized as one of Jehovah's Witnesses on May 2, 1970. During her dedicated years of service she served an auxiliary and regular pioneer. She greatly loved preaching to all persons she came in contact with and could rarely be found without a bible tract to leave with someone. She enjoyed the work of building homes in Madisonville as a contractor.
She was preceded in death by her husband James R. Shavers II and her son Blanton B. Holley. She is survived by her children Ms. Felicia Holley-Loveless, Mrs. Velda Coley (Stanley), Mr. Roman Holley (Susanne) of Cincinnati; Mrs. Robin Y. Kenerly (Shawn) of Dayton, Ohio; step-son Mr. James R. Shavers III (Tanjua), step-daughter Mrs. Constance R. Brown (Paul) of Cincinnati, 15 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, one sister Mrs. Shirley M. Hayes (William) one niece Maquida D. Hayes, her uncle Mr. Garnett Rhodes (Ella), her aunt Mrs. Corrine Jackson (Willard) and a host of cousins, other family members, relatives and close friends.
There will be a reception for family and guests immediately following the service.
