The Life and Time of Julia
Julia Mae Horton was born on March 3, 1933 in Mt. Sterling, KY to the late Norbert Bell and Alberta Anderson.
She attended Dunbar High School in Mt. Sterling, Kentucky and Southgate School in Newport, KY.
Julia started working at a young age as a cook in the family restaurant in downtown Cincinnati on 8th and Carr St. Julia was successful in opening restaurants in Covington, KY. She was also employed at General Motors where she retired after 17 years of service.
She gave her life to Christ at Mt. Sterling Church.
In 1952, Julia married Guy Horton II and moved to Cincinnati, OH. To this union 10 children were born. They also raised one grandchild.
She was preceded in death by her parents, one son, Guy Horton, two sisters, Lenora Rawly and Linda Smith.
She leaves to cherish her precious memories, her children, Darlene (Sylvester) Rivers of Detroit, MI, Bernice Horton, Thereasa (Myron) Riley, Elaine (Daniel) Williams, Victoria (Gregory) Hitchcock, Terri Ann Horton, Michelle Horton, Todd Horton, Aisha Horton and a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, other relatives and friends.
