Kathryn Menefield was born to the union of Otis and Grace Ann Woodward on August 18, 1937 in Cincinnati Ohio.
She was the last of nine children. She married Henry Menefield in 1958, was baptized Catholic, and dedicated herself to God.
She was the youngest of nine, but she was the go to sister for everything. Whether it was sharing laughs, giving advice, and getting the tea, to making sure all sisters knew what was going on with each other, even if they didn't talk. All her siblings loved her, cherished her, trusted her, and respected her. She was ultimately the peacemaker and the glue that held them together.
She worked in dietary for a few of years until she was in a car accident that left her handicapped. From there she dedicated her life as a housewife, raising four children, and taking care of the grandkids. She loved to cook and host family gatherings for many, many years. She also enjoyed playing Bingo and Po Ken No with pennies. She loved playing the lottery, using the Down Jones and the Number Book to find a hit. Also loved playing scratch offs.
As life went on, medical issues started to arise. She overcame knee surgeries, survived eight strokes, and battled breast cancer. Her overcoming these medical issues shows that she was strong, resilient, and a fighter. She also loved saying "I'm 83 years old and I don't look like it".
Kathryn is survived by her beloved children, Evette Key, Daryl Menefield, Karen Menefield, Marcus (Anita) Menefield; grandchildren, Jina Woodward, Sydney Woodward, Andrea Hopkins, Kia (Felix) Kouame, Jonathan Mason, Kellee Mason; 12 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-grandchild; and a host of other family members and friends.
She will be forever missed as Mom, Grandma, Granny, Kat, Katy, and Aunt Kat to her loved ones.
Funeral Ceremony will be at 11:00 am Wednesday, December 16, 2020 with a visitation from 10:00 am - 11:00 am at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions - Northwest Chapel, 7830 Hamilton Avenue, Cincinnati, Ohio 45231. Burial to follow at St. Joseph Cemetery (New).
