Laverne Schoenung

Laverne Schoenung age 87, of Cincinnati, Ohio passed away on Thursday, June 1, 2023. She was born in Cincinnati, Ohio on July 1, 1935 to the late Frederick and Elizabeth Holtgrewe (nee Peter).

Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Hubert Schoenung Her siblings, Rita Uphus, Howard Holtgrewe, Wilfred Holtgrewe, Fr. Don Holtgrewe, Esther Eichhorn. Laverne is survived by her niece, Christina Holtgrewe, brother, Norbert Holtgrewe, sister, Evelyn Kettner, and a host of other family members and friends.

LaVerne was a graduate of Mother of Mercy High School. She was a member of the Catholic Youth Organization. After graduation she accepted a position at Western Southern Life Insurance Company. She loved tennis and reading romance novels. She has been known to drop a coin in a slot or two. LaVerne knew how to have fun and was the life of the party.

Memorial Service will be 11:00 am Wednesday, June 14, 2023 with a visitation from 10:00 am - 11:00 am at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions West Side Chapel, 3300 Parkcrest Lane, Cincinnati, Ohio 45211.
