Obituary For LaVonne Gay Brown
12/21/1934-04/04/2022
LaVonne was first and foremost a believer in Jesus Christ. She lived her life showing and sharing that love to everyone she met.
She married young to Robert "Bob" Brown (dec' d 1997). She had 5 children. Cheryl Diane, Robin Denise, Robert Douglas (dec' d 2002) Kevin Dean and James Dana (dec' d 1962).
She has 17 grandchildren and 34 great grand children and 1 great great grandson.
She often told people how blessed she was to have such a large loving family and how she has had a wonderful life.
She was very well-educated graduating from Nazarene Bible College in 1977. She then became a pastor's wife. She has always loved teaching, using that talent to teach Sunday school, lead small groups and speaking at retreats. She was an associate pastor and loved mentoring new believers.
She wrote a book, "Ready Set Glow" about her life. Inspiring not only her family but a large circle of friends.
She loved to laugh even at herself and share stories. She traveled a lot to see family and friends. Also had the chance to go on 3 Missionary trips. She loved missions and served as the district missions president for many years.
She was a lover of Butterflies. She used the butterflies as a way of explaining the transformation that takes place in our lives when we accept Christ as our Savior. Many a grandchild have tried to count the butterflies in her home. She would always have a butterfly on, either as jewelry or as a pattern on her clothes.
She will be missed and always remembered every time we see a butterfly.
Memorial service will be held on
