Lawrence Barnes

Lawrence Vale Barnes, age 78, of Independence, Kentucky, passed away on December 15, 2024. Born in Covington, Kentucky, on October 6, 1946, he was the son of James and Elyner Barnes.

Larry was known for his adventurous spirit and was an avid skydiver, enjoying many memorable trips with family and friends. He was a long-time member of Alcoholics Anonymous, which played a significant role in his life. His love for the outdoors was evident through his passion for hunting and fishing, and he had a deep affection for animals. Above all, Larry cherished his grandchildren, who brought him immense joy, and who held a special place in their hearts for him.

He was preceded in death by his ex-wife, Cheri Oliver; his mother, Elyner Barnes; his father, James Barnes; his brothers, Courtney, Brian, and Guy Barnes; and his sister, Susan Melton. Lawrence is survived by his beloved daughters, Deanna (Chris) Testerman and Amy (Paul) Matt; grandchildren, Wyatt and Peyton Testerman; and sisters, Shelley Abdelghany, Heather (the late Roy) Moser, Monica Krummen, and Jessica (Jeff) Koury, along with many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
