HOPKINS, Lawrence F. age 82, of Cheviot passed away Tuesday, January 7, 2014. He was born September 22, 1931 in Cincinnati, Ohio, the son of George and Amanda (Blymeyer) Hopkins. He was a graduate of Central High School. On July 17, 1954 he married Jean Bryant of Cincinnati, Ohio. He was a retired Ford Sharonville Transmission Plant employee and an Army Veteran of the Korean War. Larry was a member of the Southern Ohio Dog and Game Protective Association and UAW Local 863.
Larry is survived by his children, Cathy E. Ighagbon, Jeffrey A. Hopkins and Deborah L. (Matthew) Riley. He was preceded in death by parents, George W. Hopkins and Amanda M. Hopkins; son, Lawrence "Ricky" F. Hopkins Jr. Larry will be missed by his grandchildren, Nicole (Tony) Pritchett, Christina (George) Leavitt, Samantha Hughes, Michelle Hughes and Ian Hughes; great- granddaughter, Madison Leavitt; and a host of family and friends.
As a young man Larry played competitive baseball and basketball and in later years became an avid fisherman.
