Obituary
Leona Canyon, age 84 of Forest Park passed away at Maple Knoll Village in Springdale on Friday, February 10, 2012 at 9:16 PM. She was born in Newnan, Georgia on July 23, 1927 the daughter of Robert Lee and Iona Dixon. Leona was married to the William Clay Canyon, who preceded her in death.
She is survived by two daughters, Ruby Kate Washington of Forest Park and Mary Ella Hamilton of Cincinnati; two sisters, Louella Zachary and Dorothy Durrah, both of Newnan, Georgia; 10 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; 6 great-great-grandchildren; and numerous other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; her spouse; a daughter, Dorothy Mae Hayes; and 10 siblings.
Funeral service will be held at the Newcomer Funeral Home, 7830 Hamilton Avenue, Cincinnati, OH 45231, on Saturday, February 18, 2012 at 10:00 AM with Associate Pastor Jeffrey Harrison with the St. Mark Missionary Baptist Church officiating. Burial will follow in Vine Street Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Saturday from 9:00 AM until time of service at 10:00 AM
