Life's Reflection
Leonetta Akim (Reese) Jackson affectionately known as "Lynn aka Pooka", was born October 5, 1969 to Margaretta Reese-Sartor and Rollie Robinson, Jr. in Cincinnati, Ohio. She achieved eternal peace February 12, 2012.
Lynn gave her life to Christ at an early age and was a member of Lincoln Heights Missionary Baptist Church. She attended Cincinnati Public Schools, graduating from Withrow High School in 1988.
Lynn went on to attend Kentucky State University. She graduated in 1993 with a Bachelor's of Science in Criminal Justice. Lynn attended Xavier University (Ohio) and graduated in 2000 with a Masters in Education. Finally Lynn attended the University of Cincinnati graduating in 2007 with a Masters degree in Education, specializing in Special Education.
Lynn began her teaching career with the Cincinnati Public School District in 1994. She taught at various schools within the Cincinnati Public School District for over 17 years. Lynn was not only a teacher, but she was also a leader. She served as the Chair of the Professional Development Committee, Grievance Committee, A2E/A25 Committee, Case Coordinator, Team Leader, ILT and LSDMC member, as well as many other leadership roles. She was a teacher, counselor, mentor, mother and friend to all who crossed her path.
Lynn pledged the Cincinnati Queen City Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. in 2002, The "Queens of H.E.A.R.T." Line. She was a dedicated member and soror and a sister to all.
Lynn loved life and she lived it to the fullest. She enjoyed traveling, planning gatherings, cooking and spending time with her family; particularly precious moments with Kobie and Dominique.
She is preceded in death by her grandparents, Helen and Luther Reese, Jr.; Katherine and Rollie Robinson, Sr.; and Aunt Kathy Robinson.
She is survived and cherished by husband Jesse Jackson Jr.; mother Margaretta Reese-Sartor; father Rollie Robinson Jr.; two sons Michael "Kobie" Bryant and Dominique Shirley; mother-in-laws Daisy Jackson; three stepsons Jesse III, Jarron and Jordan Jackson; two stepdaughters Jolene and Desstiny Jackson; sister Loretta Y. Mitchell; two brothers Mark Summerour and Rollie M. Mitchell; god mother Sandra Harris-Edwards; three best friends Donnieta Edwards, Kellie Griffin-Cotton and Vera Haley-Smith; aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews and a host of other relatives and many dear friends.
Sleep well beautiful wife, daughter, mother, sister, niece, cousin and friend. You have finished your course and we will continue the work that you started so that we can meet you one day in the place that GOD has prepared for you.
