LeRoy Craig, age 72 of Cincinnati, formerly of Lexington, Kentucky passed away on Monday, February 4, 2013. He was born in Lexington, Kentucky on December 2, 1940 the son of Paul and Mary (Miller) Craig Sr. LeRoy was baptized at an early age at the First Baptist Church in Lexington, Kentucky. He was a very active child and loved sports, especially baseball. As a young boy the family moved to Cincinnati, Ohio where he attended Garfield Elementary and Central High School. In spite of challenges that LeRoy faced in life, he retired after 31 years of employment. LeRoy was a very caring man who loved his family and enjoyed spending time with them. On March 20, 1982 in Forest Park, Ohio he was married to Barbara Williams.
He is survived by his wife, Barbara Craig of Cincinnati; five sisters, Gloria Coffey-Dennis of Cincinnati, Jane and her husband Eugene Sebastian of Fairfield, Mary and her husband Bill Wilmont of Southfield, Michigan, Delores and her husband Larry Wiles of Riverdale, Georgia, and Marilyn Broadus-Gay of Louisville, Kentucky; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Paul Craig Jr., and Joseph Broadus.
Funeral service will be held at the Newcomer Funeral Home, 7830 Hamilton Avenue, Cincinnati, Ohio 45231, on Friday, February 8, 2013 at 11:00 AM with Rev. Eugene Sebastian officiating. Burial will follow in Oak Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the funeral home from 10:00 AM until the time of service at 11:00 AM.
