Obituary
Leslie M. James Sr., of Cincinnati, OH departed November 4 2011. He was born on September 16, 1942, son of Samuel and Thelma James.
Leslie attended Cincinnati Public Schools and received his GED later. He spent his earlier years working various jobs including at Good Samaritan Hospital, and later the Cincinnati Metropolitan Housing Authority from which he retired in 2009.
He loved traveling, playing chess and spending time with his grandchildren, family and friends.
Leslie was preceded in death by his parents, Samuel and Thelma, daughter, Wanda Garrison, and grandson, Michael James.
He is survived by his; son, Leslie (Mike) James, Jr.; daughters, Joni (Spencer) Slaughter, Tonya Smith, Teri Spearmint, Jackie (Allen) Gordan, LaRosa James, Angel James-Clifton, Yolanda (Timothy) Walker, Shawnise (Judah) Dubose, 25 grandchildren, and 20 great-grandchildren.
Also left to mourn, wife Margie James; siblings, Samuel, Geraldine, Bryon, Cynthia; special aunt, Marie Burt, who always called him "my boy"; special godson Joshua Burton, and many other aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, family members and friends who will cherish his memory.
Very special thanks to Ann Burton, Leslie's caregiver, companion, and friend.
