Linda Ann (Johnson) Lightfoot was suddenly called to be with the Lord on Tuesday, March 20, 2012. She was born August 15, 1952, the eldest child of Ella Johnson and the late Harry Johnson, Jr. Her siblings all remember her as a great big sister who set the example for them. Because she never complained about their humble beginnings, they never truly realized what a financially precarious situation they were in during their young lives. She sheltered them from certain realities as only a loving big sister can.
Words can't even begin to express how wonderful she was as a mother. Even though she only had one biological daughter, she had many who referred to her as "Mom," including her daughters' friends and some of her younger co-workers. She was the best grandmother ever, and was an integral part of their lives. Everyone knew that when she said "my babies" or "my kids," she was referring to her three grandchildren. She was always ready and willing to miss out on sleep or sacrifice her time or money to help out family and friends.
Linda was always a caring and nurturing person, which served her well during her twenty plus years of being a registered nurse. She was well-loved by co-workers and patients, as well as their families. She always had a smile and a kind word, and dealt with high pressure situations with a calm and patience that reassured those around her.
Linda is survived by her daughter, Chaundre Allen; grandchildren, Craig, Chantel and Corrie Allen; mother Ella Johnson; sister Annette (Delbert) Young; brother Jonathan (Joyce) Johnson; brother Ronald (Viola) Johnson; sister Candace (Jeff) Bowling; three nieces, four nephews, one great nephew, and a host of cousins and extended family. Her homegoing services will be Saturday, March 31, 2012 at Good News Church of God In Christ, 1063 Northbend Road, Cincinnati, Ohio 45224. The viewing will be at 10 am, followed by the service at 11 am. The interment will be at Arlington Memorial Gardens, 2145 Compton Road, followed by a repast at Good News. In lieu of flowers, her co-workers have set up a fund and are asking that donations be made to "The Linda Lightfoot Memorial Savings Fund" at any Fifth Third branch.
