Lindsey Lee Montgomery Sr.

September 20, 1938 — January 14, 2012

LINDSEY LEE MONTGOMERY SR. known as (Big Chief aka Longwolf) was born September 20, 1938 in Beatrice, Alabama to the late Evans B. Montgomery Jr. and Winnie C. Stallworth. He departed this life on Saturday January 14, 2012.

Lindsey graduated in 1957 from Monroe County Training school in Beatrice, Alabama. He was united in holy matrimony to Maggie P. Holt who preceded him in death. To this union two children were born Michelle Annette and Lindsey Lee Jr.
He accepted Christ at an early age under the leadership of Reverend Higgins of Sylvester Baptist Church in Beatrice Alabama. At the age of 18, Cincinnati Ohio became his permanent residence. He then joined Southern Baptist Church under the pastorate of the late Reverend Jesse C. Watson.

Lindsey was employed by the International Union Local 265 in the area of labor construction. During his term with Local 265, Lindsey worked with Turner Construction where he was a part of constructing and building the "Riverfront Coliseum" in the 70s' and later worked at the Fernald Chemical Plant, from which he retired, after many years of service.

His leisure activities included gardening, hunting, fishing with his brother Evans (Sonny) and his cousin James. Lindsey also enjoyed wine making, "when you tasted his wine you would forget about all of your troubles" and last, Lindsey enjoyed fellowshipping with his long time best friend Mr. Fred Thompson (deceased suddenly in 2011). These two guys shared many laughs together and during their time together. When Mr. Fred passed, Lindsey just was not the happy person that we all knew he was.

Lindsey leaves cherishable memories to the following: two children, Michelle A. Montgomery Washington (Keith), Cincinnati, Ohio, and Lindsey Lee Montgomery Jr., Glenarden, MD; his first cousin from Cleveland Ohio, whom he helped raise, Garland Stallworth (Snooks); six grandchildren, Nina, Ethan, Chanel, MaKale, Nikolas, Brandon who preceded him in death; three great-grandchildren, Haley, Hope, and Brandon (Nina's son); one brother, Evans B. Montgomery III (Diana), and Leonard (brother); three sisters, Yvonne Montgomery-Harris, (Glover, brother-in-law, Deceased), Patricia Montgomery, Dr. Elaine Montgomery-Wilson (Michael) all of Cincinnati, Ohio and a host of nephews, nieces, cousins, and friends.
