Lois Kelley Palmer, age 95 of Hamilton formerly of St. Petersburg, Florida. She passed away on Sunday, November 4, 2012 at the Berkeley Square Retirement Center. She was born in Fairfield, Indiana on May 20, 1917 the daughter of Arthur and Clara (Cassidy) Kelley. Lois retired from Maas Brothers where she was employed as a copywriter and was a lifetime member of the Eastern Star. She loved to travel and has traveled all over the United States. Lois never missed a good party, was always modern in her thinking, and her sense of style. She loved her family and friends and all who knew her will miss her dearly. Lois and her husband Wilbur had a dedicated partnership and they enjoyed many great adventures together. Lois and her sisters were especially close.
She is survived by two daughters, Jane Johnson and her husband Aaron of Hamilton, and Janet McCann and her husband Terry of Florida; a son, Donald Palmer and his wife Gail of Florida; two sisters, Helen Jinks of Indianapolis, Indiana, and Pat Wedding of Richmond, Indiana; eight beloved grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; and many loved nieces and nephews that were exceptionally good to her. She was preceded in death by her parents; spouse; her brother, Armin Kelley; and her sister, Pauline Sayers.
The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to her many friends, including her especially dear friends Babe and Russ. A special thank you to her niece Connie and her husband Jerry for all of their loving care and support. Also a special thank you to the staff at Berkeley Square Retirement Center , including the nurses, aides, activity staff, cafeteria, housekeeping, and maintenance for all their wonderful care. The staff brought great joy to Lois's life. Thank You to the Vitas Hospice for all of their kindness and support.
Lois enjoyed a special party, celebrating her life with family and friends last year. A private family gathering will be held at the convenience of the family to mark her passing.
