Louis Leonard Vonderbrink

Louis Leonard Vonderbrink, age 90, of Cincinnati, Ohio, passed away peacefully at home with family on October 9, 2024 Born on March 3, 1934, in Cincinnati, he was the cherished son of Louis and Rose Vonderbrink (nee Herdeman).

Louis is lovingly remembered by his family, including his children;  Mark (Mary) Vonderbrink, Amy Hazelbaker, Matt (Holly) Vonderbrink, Michael (Paula) Vonderbrink, Anne (Art) Wilkinson, Beth Mendenhall, Meg (Barry) Diamond, Molly (Dave) Derr, Brian Vonderbrink. He was a proud grandfather to 37 grandchildren and a great-grandfather to 71 great-grandchildren. 

Louis was preceded in death by his parents and his son Patrick Vonderbrink, and he held dear memories of his sisters Ruth Ingram, Jean Rosenfeldt, Alma Tieman, Vera Lapirow, and Mary Lou Coleman.

Louis was a avid tennis and bridge player. Outstanding athlete both in college and high school, a member of the hall of fame at Roger Bacon High School and Xavier University.  His retired Jersey number 26, will be a reminder of his love for the game of basketball.

A memorial service celebrating his life will be held at 12:00 pm on Saturday, October 19, 2024, following a visitation from 11:00 am to 12:00 pm at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions - West Side Chapel, located at 3300 Parkcrest Lane, Cincinnati, Ohio 45211.

Following services at the funeral home a Celebration of Life will be held from 1:30 pm to 3:30 pm, at Weidemann's Brewery, 4811 Vine Street, Cincinnati, Ohio 45217.
