Lucinda Jean Charles was the youngest of seven children born to her late parents, John Allen Charles and Loretta Charles of Cincinnati. She was a lifelong resident of Cincinnati. Her departure from this life at age 48 years followed the development of pancreatic and liver cancer, which were first diagnosed in April, 2017. Determining to live her remaining days in as much fullness of mind and in such quality of life as was possible, she refused all treatments, noting that they could only offer very brief delays in the outcomes.
Lucinda was blessed to bear a total of four children into this world, including her twin daughters Heather and Stephanie Charles (age 27) of Cincinnati, and two other children who were adopted by her brother Robert and his wife Joan in 2011. They are: Erica Danielle Charles (age 20) and Robert Allen Charles, Jr. (age 16), both of Green, Ohio.
Among her special causes for joy, she was proud to be the loving grandmother of Kirie Alyssa Cole (daughter of Heather) and Kori Michael Cole of Cincinnati (son of Stephanie).
Lucinda was preceded in death by her oldest sister Darlene Kay Charles (Booneville, Ky.) in 1983, and her next oldest sibling Carl Charles (St. Petersburg, Fl.) in 2012. Her remaining surviving siblings include: Debra Ann Pilot (nee Charles) of Cincinnati, Dwayne Charles of Pine Knot, Ky., Lonny Ray Charles of Cincinnati, and Robert Allen Charles of Green, Ohio.
She also leaves behind many nephews and nieces.
Lucinda was a homemaker and was noted for her deep and abiding love of animals, most particularly of small dogs. Possessed of a generous heart and giving spirit, Lucinda shared her worldly possessions, and embraced those who were in need or in pain.
Services will be held at the funeral home on Thursday September 14, 2017 at 12 Noon. Visitation for friends and family will precede the services, starting at 11AM. The Pastor Marshall Duke, Springdale Church of the Nazarene, will be officiating.
