Lucy Mae Johnson

Lucy Mae Johnson, age 84 passed away on Saturday, March 9, 2013. She was born in Nancy, Kentucky on September 4, 1928 the daughter of Minnie Francis and Oda Ella (Redmond) Garner. She was a member of the Faith Baptist Church. Lucy retired from K-mart shoe department. She enjoyed crocheting, cooking, and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. Lucy was married to William Johnson for 65 years; they were wed on June 21, 1947.

She is survived by her husband William Johnson of Cincinnati; four children, Estel Johnson and his wife Paula of Piqua, Ohio, Larry Johnson and his wife Sharon of Franklin, Ohio, Louise and her husband James Tobergta of Cincinnati, and Patty and her husband Robert York of Cincinnati; seven grandchildren, Ray, Jamie, Eddie, Tracy Mae, Bobby, Sherry, and Julie; nine great-grandchildren, Jamie Rae, Christina, Willie, Larry James, Paul, Alayna Mae, Kali, Erik, and Zara; two great-great-grandchildren, Brennen James, and Teeanah. She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers and three sisters.

Funeral service will be held at the Newcomer Funeral Home, 7830 Hamilton Avenue, Cincinnati, Ohio 45231 on Thursday, March 14, 2013 at 2:00 pm with Pastor George Ragen officiating. Burial will follow at Arlington Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be held at the funeral home from 1:00 pm until the time of service at 2:00 pm. Following the burial at Arlington Memorial Gardens a reception will be held at the Faith Baptist Church, 10712 Hamilton Avenue, Cincinnati, Ohio 45231.
