Lynn Mcdulin

July 23, 1965 — August 15, 2022

The human hurricane known as Lynn McDulin sadly passed away on Monday, August 15th, 2022– or what will forever be referred to as the Monday-est Monday ever. At the young age of 57, Lynn left an army of humans in her wake: her loving and devoted husband of 38 blissful years, Dan; son Daniel (Sarah) McDulin, Jr., daughter Jessica (Seth) Mullins, son Jeremy (Alex) McDulin, daughter Abigail (Oliver) Suggs; grandson Kindaul (Caitlyn) Mullins, grandson Zachariah Mullins, granddaughter Scarlett McDulin, grandson Lucas Mullins, granddaughter Izzabella McDulin, grandson Daniel McDulin III, granddaughter Penelope Mullins, grandson Sheamus McDulin, granddaughter Lenora McDulin and great-grandson Kindaul Mullins, Jr., who we know she's already giving pretty kisses in heaven while we wait to meet him (she just had to get a head start on Dan). The army's ranks also included a whole host of nieces, nephews, siblings and adopted children from across the country – to all of whom, she was the favorite aunt, sister and mom. She would be upset if we didn't mention being the favorite daughter (in-law) to John and Pat McDulin, who she loved and admired immensely.

Lynn's love knew no bounds and she had a way of knowing when someone needed it the most. She was always prepared with comfort to give and big hugs to share, and she absolutely could be counted on for some sassy advice – especially when you didn't want to hear it. Lynn was known for making any place feel more like home and she spent her life making sure others felt seen, included, heard, empowered and most of all, loved.

Lynn and Dan's love story was one that you only read about, and even after almost forty years of marriage, they fell for each other all over again every single day. Together, they overcame countless obstacles to build the life they wanted and to raise the family they were so proud of. Lynn simply adored Dan and though Dan swears it was her "angel eyes" that hooked him, Lynn made sure everyone knew it was actually her backside. They balanced each other out perfectly and even though her stubborn, spunky attitude could drive him nuts, Dan was crazy about her.

There was no better mother than Lynn McDulin, and that is a straight fact. You can ask anyone. She was gentle and kind yet firm; loving and supportive yet honest. She offered the best guidance with endless grace and patience. She and Dan were "everyone's Mom and Dad", opening their home to the friends of their children even after they were all adults. She was passionate about her children's growth and never let a day pass where she didn't tell them how much she loved them.

On top of all of these incredible characteristics, Lynn herself was a strong woman who delicately balanced her dedication to her family and her own independence. She was fiery in all the best ways and fierce in all the other ones, too. To the very end, she fought with intense ferocity and made sure her life was lived on her terms and her terms only. Without even meaning to, she taught everyone who met her how to love and how to be loved. Her creativity is passed through generations and she was an exemplary, magnificent woman who made the world a brighter place.

Please join us in celebrating her amazing life during a Memorial Mass on Saturday, August 20th at 10:00 AM at St. John's Deer Park. She asked that everyone wear purple if they can and NO black, because she insists that black shouldn't be worn to a celebration. A party in her honor will be held afterwards beginning at noon, at the Fairfax Rec Center (5903 Hawthorne Ave, Cincinnati, OH 45227). Food will be provided but please bring your own alcoholic beverages.

In lieu of flowers, take the time to tell the people you love how special they are, and then drink a frozen lime margarita. In lieu of that, donations can be made in her name to St. Jude's Research Hospital here: http://giftfunds.stjude.org/LynnMcDulin

To our beloved mama, Mamaw and MyLinda – we are so very proud of you. We miss you more than we could have imagined, but knowing you're back with Ivory, walking, talking and dancing again and taking shots with the people you loved most… it gives us the comfort that only you could. Rest easy, and smoke a damn cigarette! We'll take it from here.
