Mabel Collins

April 25, 1947 — November 23, 2024

La Grange

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Mabel Eileen Collins, beloved wife of Marvin Collins, who was called home on November 23, 2024 at the age of 77 in La Grange KY. Wife, Mother, "Mamaw", Mabel was the pillar of our family, known for her unwavering love, incredible baking, and cherished stories of a life well-lived. Mabel was born April 25, 1947 in Middletown Ohio to Jane and Morgan Dickerson, and had a sister Carol Dickerson-Frisch and brother Bobby Dickerson. She met her lifelong partner, and married Marvin Collins on December 5, 1981 and has been happily married for 43 years. Mabel has lived a rich, and fulfilling life where she's seen, done, and accomplished many things from waitressing, bartending, selling Avon, working at the Delphi factory with Brandie, opened a clothing store, and she even went back to school to take some culinary courses at Sinclair Community College. Mabel also went to school and obtained her Realtor's License!

Mabel was a loving and kind soul who throughout her lifetime remained faithful, devoting herself to God, her beliefs, and her family. She loved her church groups, shopping, baking, travelling, cuddling with Daisy and Remus, and spending time with her family.

Jesus said to her, “I am the resurrection and the life. The one who believes in me will live, even though they die; and whoever lives by believing in me will never die." John 11:25-26

Though deeply saddened by the loss of her cherished child, Brandie Jo Burggraf, who preceded her in passing, her spirit remained resilient and her love for her family boundless. She was also preceded by her brother Bobby Dickerson. She is survived by her loving husband Marvin Collins, sister Carol Dickerson Frisch, children Scott (Kathy) Burggraf, John (Chris) Burggraf, grandchildren Nina (Jason) Waters, Lindsay (James) Reed, Joshua (Katlynn) Burggraf, Kelly Burggraf, Miranda (James) Bowers, Wesley (Pam) Howland, great-grandchildren Nevaeh, Johnathan, Scarlett, Madison, Elyssa, Colton (Skylar), Shelby (Austin), Ian, Elyah, Hallie, Brooklyn, Roman, Bailey, Adley, Lucas, who will forever carry her memory in their hearts.
