Mack M. Parish

April 19, 1935 — January 1, 2013

Mack McKinley Parish was born fourth son to his loving Christian parents the late Mack McKinley Parrish and Doris (nee Wells) Parish, April 19, 1935 in Haywood County (Tennessee).

Mack's mother Doris, passed away when he was very young, leaving behind eight other young sibling to be reared by their father. Mack was raised on the family farm in a Christian home in Haywood County (Tennessee), where he learned about hard work and discipline. He was baptized and a regular member at the Trinity C.M.E church in his hometown.

Mack was united in holy matrimony three times and from these unions was born a total of ten children.

Mack moved to St. Louis for a few years where he owned and ran a gas station and small restaurant. He also started his own cleaning business and briefly worked it here in Cincinnati. He worked over 20 years at University Hospital, now know as UC Health, starting in environmental services and retired as supervisor over the laundry department.

Mack really enjoyed life. He had a big heart and would go out of his way to do anything for anyone that he could help. His favorite things to do was grilling out and having the family over, attending family gatherings and spending time with his children and grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Mack was a God fearing man and came to the realization some years back before his illness that he had not lived the best life, and had not always done what was right. He did what he could to make changes in his life, first by asking for God's forgiveness, and wanted to ask forgiveness from others, but did not get that chance. Before his passing, with heartfelt prayer, and tears in his eyes he asked God to forgive him of his sins and any wrong that he had done to others.

With his family by his side, Mack departed this life, while in the comfort of is home on January 1, 2013. He is preceded in death by his father, Mack McKinley Parish, (know as McKinley), his mother, Doris (nee Wells) Parish, his daughter, Gloria Parish; brothers, Oscar Parish (Deanee), Willie Parish (Bill), John E.
