Maggie L. Harmon

Maggie L. Harmon was born to the late Ernest and Beatrice Gordon on October 20, 1932 in Houston, Mississippi. She transitioned to her eternal home on November 29, 2021 at the age of 89.

The family moved to Lexington, Kentucky where she joined Pilgrim Baptist Church. She met and married Rollin O. Harmon in 1951. Through their union two girls were born, Dorothy and LaVerne. In 1958 she became a cosmetologist. She moved to Covington, Kentucky and kept working in the beauty salon. She found a church home at 9th Street Baptist. Some time later she wanted to spread her wings and moved to Cincinnati, Ohio. Again she found a church home with Peace Baptist, where she made many good friends. She later joined the senior choir.

She worked many years in the beauty salon, but wanted to try here hand at something else. So, she went to work with American Nursing as a Home Health Aide. She liked helping people so much that she went from seniors to kids. She worked with the kids at Crest Hills School for a number of years.

She was preceded in death by brothers, LC and Ernest Gordon; and daughter, Dorothy Ripley.

She leaves to cherish her memory daughter, LaVerne Harmon; grandchildren, Lawrence Harmon, Michelle Moore, Denita Harmon, and Donte Harmon; great-grandchildren, Everett Moore, Whitney Harmon, Sierra Harmon, Alexus Harmon, Danielle Harmon, Jewlz Jones, and Donte Harmon, Jr.; great-great-grandchildren, Kingston Harmon, and Elisha Moore.

Funeral service will be Saturday, December 11, 2021, 11:00 am with a visitation from 10:00 am - 11:00 am at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions, Northwest Chapel, 7830 Hamilton Avenue, Cincinnati, Ohio 45231. Interment will follow at Walnut Hills Cemetery, 3117 Victory Parkway, Cincinnati, Ohio 45206.
