Margaret Elizabeth Costello (nee Kemper), age 94, of Cleves, Ohio passed away on Friday, July 15, 2022, holding the hand of her Granddaughter, Jennifer and listening to the 40's music she loved. She was coherent and cognizant until the end.
Margaret was born in Cincinnati, Ohio on August 2, 1927 to Clem J. and Margaret A. Kemper (nee Kuhl).
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Lee J. Costello; daughter, Barbara Schwettman; son in law, Joseph Donohue; siblings, Clem (Junior), Leonard (Red), Robert (Bob), and Eleanor Edwards (Kemper).
Margaret is survived by her loving children, Kathleen (the late Joe) Donohue, Michael (Sherry) Costello, Dennis Costello, Thomas Costello, and Patricia Costello; son-in-law, Steve Schwettman; grandchildren, Debby Cummiskey, Steve (Betsy) Schwettman, Kim (John) Cox, Joe Donohue, Laura Donohue, Denton Donohue, Michael (April) Costello, Joseph (Laura) Costello, Matthew (Rebecca) Costello, Jennifer (David) Gadberry; many great-grandchildren; and a host of other family members and friends.
Margaret enjoyed many hobbies including playing with a women's bowling league, hiking, traveling, camping, and playing cards. She also really enjoyed sports and listening to sports radio, she was an avid Reds and Steelers fan. Margaret was proud to be a Girl Scout leader for disabled Girl Scouts. She and her husband, Lee Costello, worked tirelessly with their youngest daughter. They trained Patty Costello for years in Special Olympics. She competed in many events and won multiple gold and silver medals. Margaret's devotion to Patty included never spending a complete 24 hour day away from her for more than 50 years, until she was in her 80's. This was also true for Lee, except the rare occasions when he went out of town for work.

The Funeral Ceremony will be 11:00 am Saturday, July 23, 2022 with a visitation from 10:00 am - 11:00 am at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions - Northwest Chapel, 7830 Hamilton Avenue, Cincinnati, Ohio 45231. Interment will follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, 11000 Montgomery Road, Cincinnati, Ohio 45249.
