Obituary
Margaret Pearl Overstreet was born in Harrodsburg, Kentucky on July 30, 1920. She was the fourth child born to the late Wayman McKitric and Pearl Seawright. She accepted Christ at an early age at Little Zion Baptist Church of Burgin, Kentucky. She attended Sunday School and sang in the choir as an active member. She graduated from Westside High School in Harrodsburg, Kentucky.
Margaret Pearl was united in holy matrimony to Charles Walter Overstreet, Sr., on September 15, 1938, and to this union were born four children: Charles Walter Overstreet, Jr., Gary Lee Overstreet, Vivian Carol Carter-Smith, and Dee Allen Overstreet.
Her husband Charles Walter came to the Cincinnati area to work, and his wife and family joined him here where they became permanent residents. While in Cincinnati, she was a faithful member of New Friendship Baptist Church, Good News Church of Christ, and Lee Chapel AME, and returned home to New Friendship Baptist Church.
She was known for having delicious rolls, cobblers, banana pudding, pies, cookies, and cakes.
She leaves to mourn, yet celebrate her home going, sons, Charles Walter, Jr., (Rashell), Gary Lee (Delores), Dee Allen (Angela), and her daughter Vivian Carol (James); a host of grandchildren and great-grandchildren; a host of loving nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Psalm 46: God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.
