Marian Jean Howard lovingly called "Mime" by her family was born to the late Luther and Roberta Sims on June 12, 1938 in Washington, Georgia.
Marian went to school at Cherry Grove School. She had two sisters Betty Sims and Flourine Sims; three brothers Jerry Lee Sims, Harvey Lee Sims, and Henry Lee Sims.
Marian came to Cincinnati, Ohio in 1955 where she met Clydell Howard Sr. lovingly known as "Daddy". They were joined in marriage on January 6, 1956 and to this union six children were born, Honnee Clydell Howard, John Howard Sr., Thomas Howard, Vivian Howard, Decie Howard, and Anna Howard-Browning.
Although Marian was a stay at home mother, she loved to sew, look at movies and cook. However, her favorite pastime was dancing. Turn on some music and you could see her cut a rug! She was also a member of New Prospect Baptist Church.
Marian's sister Flourine Sims; brothers Jerry Lee Sims and Harvey Lee Sims; daughter Decie Howard, and sister-in-law Gayle Howard all preceded her in death.
Marian leaves to cherish her memory: one sister Betty Sims of Cincinnati, OH; one brother Henry Lee Sims of Oakland, CA; five children Honnee Clydell Howard of Cincinnati, OH; John Howard, Sr. (Elizabeth) of New Castle, PA, Thomas Howard (Savada), Vivian Howard-Young (Walter), and Anna Howard-Browning of Cincinnati, OH; and a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.
