STEPHENS, Marion Edward age 72, of Cincinnati, passed away peacefully at his residence on Friday October 11, 2013. He was born November 25, 1940 in Yazoo City, Mississippi, the son of Norman and Rosie (Harris) Stephens. On November 24, 1962, he married Mary Stephens (Spivey), of Cincinnati, Ohio.
Marion is preceded in death by his parents, Norman and Rosie B.Stephens; his grandson Deshawn Myers; his brothers, Norman Stephens Jr. and Jimmy (Red) Collins. Marion is survived by his wife, Mary Stephens, his sons, Ronald Stephens of West Chester, Ohio, Antonio Stephens Sr. of Cincinnati, Ohio, Robert Cook of Fairfield, Ohio; his daughter, Dawn L. Stephens (Derrick Howard) of Cincinnati, Ohio; his God-son Wilbert "Puncho" Pryor; his grandchildren Paris A. Stephens, Antonio (Nikki) Stephens Jr., Iyah Stephens, Adrian Lattimore, Myere and Malaya Stephens, Antwan Jackson, Demarcus Robert Cook, Tiffany Cook, Jamia Lewis, Indika D. Stephens, and Sir - Julius E. Reid; his great grand children Amariyah Stephens, Averie M. Stephens, Amari Cook, Kaleb Cook, Arianna Cook, Jair Cook; his siblings, Willie J. Stephens, Leola Shamel, and Mac Arthur (Tina) Stephens Sr., Barry Smith of Chicago, Illinois, Roy Smith of Baltimore, Maryland, Alphonso Riley of Cincinnati, Ohio, Velma Riley of Cincinnati, Ohio, and Blair Riley of Cincinnati, Ohio; and a host of relatives and friends.
Marion was an ordained minister and loved spreading the Word of God. He retired as an U.S. Postal Service Letter Carrier. He truly loved being the patriarch of the family. Marion was a sports fanatic, with his true love being baseball which he played in the Minor Leagues.
He will be truly missed by those who knew and loved him!
