Marquis Darrell Colbert, age 39, of Cincinnati, Ohio passed away on Tuesday, December 24, 2019.
He was born in Cincinnati, Ohio on November 25, 1980 to Sherry Denise White (nee Colbert).
Marquis was an artist who had a love for drawing, making music, dancing and was a man of many talents. He was very creative and there was nothing he wasn't capable of completing. He had a great sense of humor and was a comedian who loved to make people laugh. Marquis loved his family and enjoyed spending time with them. He had a love for life and was an eternal optimist, always seeing the best in everything.
Marquis was the owner of Genius House Records where he recorded several albums with 'Daddy's Little Girls', which was a family group made up of his daughters and their cousin. Marquis aka Ghetto Quis spent many nights with his brother, (Dj Trackman) and friends mixing beats and creating in his basement.
He was preceded in death by his grandmothers, Patricia L Colbert and Susie Horsley.
Marquis is survived by his seven children, Marquea Colbert, Markeyla Colbert, Marnasia Colbert, Marquis Colbert, Jr., Kewan Colbert, Kalayah Colbert, and Ambyria Herndon; three grandchildren; mom, Sherry Denise (Jimmie) White; three brothers, Mario (Kara) Colbert, Martez Colbert, and Thurston (Briana) Oden; sister, Christine Wilson; two aunts, Earliene Madison, Patti Ann (Nathaniel) Shepard; four uncles, Anthony Colbert, James (Marchell) Colbert, Lawrence Colbert, Samuel Colbert; grandfather, Earl Madison; three nieces, Alexis, Mariyah, Naomi; nephew, Mario, Jr.; and a host of other family members and friends.
Family and friends may gather from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm on Friday, January 3, 2020 at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions - Northwest Chapel, 7830 Hamilton Avenue, Cincinnati, Ohio 45231. The funeral service will follow the gathering, beginning at 12:00 pm at the funeral home.
